Wentzel, Van Zyl winners in Federation Pairs
Golf
The annual Federation Pairs golf competition, sponsored by Safety Kit and co-sponsored by Fox Designs, was held at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club last weekend.
Ernst Calitz of Safety Kit is proud to have had the opportunity to once again be the sponsor of this big event. In addition, the first prize was sponsored by Pieter Fox of Fox Designs.
The competition is played over 54 holes. The format of the competition is: first round betterball, second round foursomes and the final round combined.
In total 36 teams participated. No team could win two prizes; therefore, the results must be read in that context.
With the rainy season on hand, Saturday morning’s competition started off very wet. Umbrellas and rain clothing were visible all over the course. The course was in good condition and well prepared by the greenkeeper and staff. The last three bent grass greens that were replaced recently were opened for play on Friday afternoon as they are almost perfect to play on.
