• Well-known Namibian photographer and artist Linda Louw, exhibits her best images at the Woermannhaus Gallery in Swakopmund until 5 December. At the same event, some gallery space is reserved for a retrospective on the life and work of Koos van Ellinckhuizen.
• My everyday life in Namibia, an exhibition by Toivo Shiwembe, can be viewed at La Bonne Table at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre until 26 January 2017. Toivo is an autodidactic photographer and this is his first solo exhibition.
This collection of photos is a view of Namibia through the eyes of a local man, who never dreamed of being able to see the diversity and beauty of his country of birth.
• The Project Room (32 Jenner Street, Windhoek West) presents Squares in Nature-Nature in Squares by Nina Lawrin until 9 December. Nina is a visual artist from Chicago. She has been in Namibia on a Student Fulbright Grant, exploring the realm of natural dyes and cellulose fibre from plants within different areas of the country. • “The cost of a slap – an audit on gender-based violence” is the topic of a talk hosted at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre from 17:30 to 19:30. Join director of Sister Namibia Vida de Voss Links, and Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services Eveline January, who share with the audience the economic costs of GBV for the state. René Adams, the Programme Manager of Substance Abuse, Prevention, Drug Control and Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Health and Social Services, will cover the economic costs for society.
• The Scientific Society hosts a presentation in English by Jimmy Zimmer on “Angola – ever changing . . .” at 19:30. The presentation focuses on Lubango, the settlement of the Dorsland Trekkers at Humpata, the breathtaking gorge cut out of the volcanic Chela Escarpment Tunda Vala, the spectacular Sierra de Leba Pass built by a woman, the Christo de Rey statue, Benguela and Lobito with their fine beaches and interesting history, and the Deutsche Straße where especially German farmers with farm labourers left their footsteps and sweat developing the land. This event serves as an introduction to the Society''s tour to Angola in May 2017.

As part of the Park Talk series, the focus for this months'' event is “Sustainable development in Namibia from COP21 to COP22”.
In Paris, at the COP 21 (chaired by France until November 2016), the world took a decision to commit fully against climate change by signing the first international climate agreement ever (the Paris Agreement) with the aims of keeping global warming under 2°C, discarding green house gas emissions as well as industrial waste products. The talk takes place at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre from 17:30 to 19:30.

Narratives of Space is an exhibition of artworks from the Permanent Collection of the National Art Gallery of Namibia and can be viewed until 21 January 2017.
This exhibition includes two artworks on loan from the Arts Association Heritage Trust (AAHT).
Between the collections of the NAGN and the AAHT, there is a wide representation of Namibian art and art history.
