Brille aan oogkliniek geskenk

Die Windhoekse Lions-klub het vandeesweek ’n skenking van 60 brilrame vir kinders en babas ontvang. Die skenkings is oorhandig deur Klaus Bayer van die lLions-klub Starnberg, asook Carlo Wagner en dr. Iris Kocak-Laue van die Koblenz Lions-klub.

Dit is deel van die Lions Recycle for Sight-program, waar mense hul gebruikte bril na 'n Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre (LERC) kan bring om dit aan behoeftiges te skenk.

“Brille se brekingsfoute kan maklik reggestel word, maar miljoene wat in lae- en middelinkomstelande woon, het nie toegang tot basiese oogsorgdienste nie. Die Lions-klub het die dringende behoefte aan lense opgemerk en bruikbare brille in hul gemeenskappe versamel om die Lions Recycle For Sight-program te ondersteun,” lui dit op die Lions-klub se webblad.

Spesiale baba- en kinderbrille is aan Corinna Andreae en haar span by die Windhoek Sentrale Hospitaal se oogkliniek oorhandig.
