New JTC for Walvis Bay
Youth leaders inaugurated
A learner from Kuisebmond Secondary School was announced as the new junior mayor of Walvis Bay.
Nehemia Haikali from Kuisebmond Secondary School (KSS) was inaugurated as the new junior mayor of Walvis Bay. The inauguration of the new Junior Town Council (JTC) took place last week.
Haikali’s deputy is Immaculate Jash from De Duine Secondary School, and the new junior CEO is Roxen Gamises from Duinesig High School.
The public relations officer is Ndjoroka Nambahu from Walvis Bay Gymnasium, while the human resources officer is Joel Shiwedha from Flamingo Secondary School. The treasurer is Ester Kahenge from Tutaleni High School, and the secretary is Issabella Rooze from Duneside High School. The two senior members serving on the council are Danelle Swart from Walvis Bay Private School and Dawid Bissit from the International School of Walvis Bay.
During his acceptance speech, Nehemia Haikali expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve both his school and the community of Walvis Bay. He promised to lead with pride and integrity, emphasizing his commitment to promoting unity and collaboration among the youth.
“My desire is to focus on sustainability and environmental awareness, pledging to advocate for initiatives that will protect the environment for future generations. I wish to encourage young people to take an active role in creating a greener, more sustainable future for Walvis Bay. This focus on sustainability aligns perfectly with the values of Kuisebmond Secondary School, further cementing KSS’s reputation as a ‘Society of Achievers.’”
