Die Verkiesingskommissie van Namibië (ECN) is tans besig met voorbereidings vir die uitvoering van die algemene kiesersregistrasie wat tussen 3 Junie en 1 Augustus plaasvind.

Die presidensiële en Nasionale Vergadering-verkiesings word vir 27 November beplan.

Een van die belangrikste verantwoordelikhede van die ECN is die uitvoering van burgerlike en kiesersonderrig vóór beide die kiesersregistrasie en verkiesings. Dié veldtog het op 7 Maart begin en dit behels die daaglikse aanbieding van persoonlike inligtingsessies met alle gemeenskappe landswyd, insluitend diegene wat op

kommersiële plase woon en werk. Hierdie pogings het ten doel om bewustheid onder die kiesers te verhoog oor die registrasieproses en die vereistes vir registrasie en om te stem.

In die voortsetting van die ECN se toewyding tot die toesighouding, bestuur en oorsig oor die uitvoering van vrye, regverdige, geloofwaardige en onpartydige verkiesings, is die Namibië Landbou-unie (NLU) as sleutelrolspeler genader om NLU-lede in kennis te stel van die belangrike aktiwiteite rondom die verkiesing en om toegang tot alle plase vir ECN-amptenare te verkry.

Alle Namibiese burgers van 18 jaar en ouer moet as kiesers registreer, ongeag of hulle voorheen geregistreer het of nie.
