Milestone for Namibia Dairies
The O&L subsidiary says exports to Zimbabwe expands Namibia Dairies' footprint in SADC.
Namibia Dairies, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List Group (O&L), has confirmed its first export shipment of juice to Zimbabwe.
The Rietfontein Long Life juices, recently launched under the umbrella of its flagship nectar range, were dispatched last month, Namibia Dairies said in a statement.
The development follows nearly eight months of extensive discussions and groundwork with company partners and regulating agencies to ensure compliance with all necessary export and import requirements.
“This milestone expands Namibia Dairies’ footprint into the Southern African Development Community (SADC), opening opportunities that align with the organisation’s Vision for 2029,” the company said.
Distribution
The products will be distributed and merchandised by Doltek, a trusted partner with 12 years of experience redistributing into the Zimbabwean market and the official distributor of Heineken and Namibia Breweries Ltd (NBL) in the country.
“This collaboration ensures that the high-quality juices from Namibia Dairies will reach consumers across Zimbabwe with care and dedication, efficiently and effectively,” the company said.
“We are incredibly excited and proud, but more than that, we are genuinely passionate about the opportunities this opens up for our company and our country,” the chief operations officer of O&L and the chairperson of Namibia Dairies, Wynand Oosthuizen, said.
Strategic move
“We aim to make this shipment the first of many, ideally opening the way for more of our products to find their way onto Zimbabwean shelves and homes.
“This strategic move is not just about growth; it’s about our commitment to making a positive impact, ensuring long-term sustainability, and enhancing the livelihoods of our people,” Oosthuizen said.
According to him, the juice export not only represents a significant achievement for Namibia Dairies, but also aligns with the company’s authentic commitment to expanding its market reach and enhancing economic ties, as well as caring for the communities it touches within the region.
“By entering the Zimbabwean market, Namibia Dairies is poised to bring its exceptional products to a new audience, contributing to regional trade and cooperation. We believe this venture will strengthen our bonds with our neighbours and bring about meaningful economic and social benefits for all involved,” Oosthuizen said.
