The Swakopmund-based Southern Stream First Division soccer outfit put on a skillful display and secured a commendable six points in the first double-header fixture over the past weekend in the south of Namibia. The team scored a convincing 4-1 victory over Try Again FC in Keetmanshoop and kept a clean sheet with a 2-0 win against Oranjemund FC in Rosh Pinah.
Thomas Andreas hit the back of the net twice, with Christiaan Doeseb and Wakendisa Kahimise also getting on the score sheet against Try Again. Keeper Nanguei Kahambundu was named player of the match. Bully Taniseb and Jarod Goseb scored for Blue Boys against Oranjemund FC. Taniseb was named the player of the match.
“We are enthusiastic and will be looking to continue our winning streak in two exciting home fixtures scheduled for the coming weekend against Mariental Sports Club on 2 December and Dates Eleven FC on 3 December,” said Laina Junias, the general secretary of the club.
Both matches will be hosted at the Mondesa Sports Field in Swakopmund. The executive committee (Exco) of Ospana Oyetu thus issued a clarion call to all Blue Boys FC supporters, friends, and the wider Swakopmund community to mobilise and attend these home games. “The entrance is free so all you have to do is show up in order to witness some local brewed magic on the field. Our talented, youthful, and creative footballers from Swakopmund are ready to put on a skillful display for fans,” said the president of the club, Norbert Sakeus.
