The Water Filter Shop is General Technical Services' recent addition at the coast.

The business caters to the needs of local private and commercial customers as well as plumbers and DIY enthusiasts. There has always been a demand for solutions from private clients and commercial walk-in customers, which General Technical Services (GTS) now hopes to meet with the establishment of the Water Filter Shop.

Through a joint venture with GTS Anticor and Anticor (Windhoek partners), the Water Filter Shop offers the full range of products from Best Water Technology (BWT) and Ecosoft, Europe's leading manufacturers of water technology products.

The Water Filter Shop sells a comprehensive range of water purifiers for all sorts of water requirements. “We stock the full range of replacement filters for the removal of odour and harmful substances from water as well as remineralisers. The shop also has all parts, fittings, and piping needed for a professional installation in the home and at work,” says Siegfried Herholdt, the managing director of GTS.

GTS has been a specialist service provider and consultant to the mining, manufacturing, and fishing industries since 1995. Its field of expertise covers the areas of water treatment, process engineering design and automation, and industrial software.

Herhold added that some of the products now available at the Swakopmund shop are under-the-counter reverse osmosis (RO) units for producing drinking water from brackish, non-drinkable water. “Another popular product range is the three-stage filter, which purifies ordinary municipal water to a higher drinking quality. These filters are typically installed in the kitchen with a separate tap. This way, customers can drink mineral-grade water in their own homes and save on purchasing bottled water often shipped over large distances. This contributes to a greener and more sustainable eco-footprint.”

The shop is situated in the industrial area of Swakopmund, close to Build It. Business hours are between 09:00 and 15:00 from Monday to Friday.
