Visitors to the 15th edition of the annually hosted Erongo Business and Tourism Expo (EBTE) are in for a real treat.

“We have a diverse mixture of sectors represented, more than 150 exhibitors stocking a wide variety of products and food, a couple of surprises for the kids, and loads of entertainment lined up for everybody,” promised Desiree Stevens, the organiser of the expo.

The event with “Innovate, Intergrade and Industrialize” as the theme which attracts thousands of visitors, will take place over four days at the Walvis Bay Civic Centre.

A street parade led by the Navy Brass Band will kick-start the proceedings at 10:00 on Wednesday 25 October.

The mayor of Walvis Bay will welcome expo patrons at 11:30. Tino !Hanabeb, the CEO of the main expo sponsor Erongo RED, will talk about promoting trade in the Erongo region and beyond (11:45), and the patron of the expo, Erongo governor Neville Andre, will introduce the keynote speaker, Lucia Ipumbu, the minister of industrialisation and trade. The governor will also officiate the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the expo at 12:45. The VIPs will then tour the expo with the doors opening for the public at 14:00.

In line with the aim to strengthen value chains for economic development, the expo experience will be complemented by various activities and events to provide participants with additional networking platforms. A business symposium, which forms part of the expo, will commence at 11:00 and conclude at 14:00 on the second day. The symposium will continue on the third day (09:00 to 16:00) with Estelle Tjipuka, the founder of Emerge Coaching and the author of the best-seller Breaking Barriers, engaging exhibitors.

Visitors will have access to the stalls from 09:00 daily - with live performances in the entertainment tent concluding the proceedings at 22:00 every evening.
