Improved mobility for Usakos, Karibib police
Donation valued at over N$1 million
The Navachab mine continues to be of great help in the region, as the mine has been actively repairing police vehicles from Usakos and Karibib police stations.
QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine handed over a donation consisting of two vehicles to the Namibian police.
The donation, valued at N$1 236 422.10, was delivered and came in the form of two Isuzu double-cab vehicles to be deployed at the Karibib and Usakos police stations.
The inspector-general of the Namibian police, Joseph Shikongo, emphasised that the donated vehicles are not just practical assets but embodiments of generosity, compassion, and unity.
“The gesture not only signified a remarkable act of generosity but also highlighted the steadfast commitment to the safety and security of the nation, as it will enhance the operational capacity of the Namibian police in the Erongo region. These vehicles represent a beacon of hope for a safer tomorrow. It also symbolises a collective commitment towards a Namibia where safety and security are not just aspirations but lived realities for all citizens.”
He reassured the management of Navachab mine that the vehicles would be well-maintained and utilised for their intended purposes.
“As these vehicles traverse the nation, they carry not only the responsibility of upholding law and order but also the aspirations of a peaceful and prosperous future. It is through partnerships like these that we can work together to build a safer and more secure future for all Namibians.”
The governor of the Erongo region, Neville Andre, emphasised the need for resources in law enforcement in the region due to the rise in economic developments and an influx of occupants.
“The Namibian government views the equitable provision of safety, security, and justice to our citizens as an indispensable component of our developmental aspirations. With our regional population expanding and our society becoming even more advanced and competitive, the need for effective law enforcement mechanisms is further amplified.”
