Saturday’s Debmarine Namibia Premier League clash at a windy Unam Stadium in Windhoek saw Khomas Nampol stamping their authority on Okahandja United by a 4-0 margin.

Both teams tried to establish an early advantage, but it was the log leaders Khomas Nampol who opened the scoring with an excellent header from George Frans just before the teams broke for half-time.

Right after the second half’s resumption, Frans blasted in the second goal of the match, much to the excitement of the small crowd of supporters who gathered at the stadium.

This second goal dismantled the composure of the Okahandja outfit who tried to play long-range passes which did not seem to be working for them.

Khomas Nampol’s third goal came through Rivaldo Prins and at that time it was clear that the Okahandja side was not going to make a comeback in the one-sided affair.

As if the torture they were enduring was not enough, Absalom Iimbondi rounded off from a brilliant one-on-one encounter with the goalie to score the fourth goal of the match.

Head coach of Khomas Nampol, Fortune Eichab, was extremely impressed by his side’s efforts. The coach has set a target of 24 goals for the first healf of the season. So far, with Saturday’s clash, they’ve scored 21 times.

“We have a goalie who can pass the balls, we utilized the goalkeeper throughout the match,” Eichab said.

The team however fell to a 2-1 loss to Blue Waters yesterday afternoon.

The goalkeeper of Okahandja United managed to save a number of goal attempts, but Nampol’s persistence paid off.

Okahandja’s coach Richard Gariseb said: “After the break, the nightmare started. The performance was unacceptable. There were just too many errors.

“There is nothing else to do – we need to improve.”

The Okahandja team drew 0-0 with Young Brazilians yesterday.
