Amateur fighting talent on display

The Erongo Regional Boxing Championships saw an electric showdown of more than 50 boxers from across the region, all vying for a spot on the regional team.Team Erongo is set to compete at the national amateur championship in Grootfontein during August, as well as at the National Youth Games in Oshakati this December. Namibian boxers will also represent the country at the 2025 Region Five Youth Games, to be hosted by Namibia.Speaking to Sport Wrap at the championships, coach Bernardo Tjaverua explained that the boxers hailed from Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Uis, and Omaruru. “I’m super excited and looking forward to the future. We have a lot of talent here in our region; thus, we need all the help we can get in terms of sponsorships to take it to the next level. “We have younger boys, even girls participating.
