Namibia’s Brave Warriors will be aiming for three points today when they take on Malawi in a crucial World Cup qualifier at 18:00.

The match will be played at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, Malawi, as both teams look to secure vital points in the standings. The 41,100-seater stadium is expected to be packed to the rafters when the two Southern African teams meet.

Brave Warriors coach Collin Benjamin expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to face Malawi on their home turf.

“We had good preparations these past few weeks, and I believe the boys are ready for the match. This is all about getting points and ensuring that we remain in contention for World Cup qualification,” Benjamin said.

Namibia currently has 8 points from four matches, having won two and lost two in the group stage. Malawi, on the other hand, has 6 points after also winning two and losing two.

Namibia’s last group-stage match ended in a 0-0 draw against Tunisia in June 2024. Meanwhile, Malawi’s most recent World Cup qualifier saw them suffer a 1-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea.
