Coetzee and De Wet crowned Rossmund Club Champions
Rössmund Golf Club held its annual club championship last weekend with the continued support of sponsors Marsh Namibia.
The 2024 Marsh Namibia Rössmund club champions were Fritz Coetzee III and Tiekie de Wet.
Weather conditions were perfect and the golf course was in excellent condition. The field consisted of men in the A, B and C medal divisions, in addition to a stableford division “for those not wanting to play real golf”.
The ladies and juniors competed in the medal format only.
The A Division’s first day produced a tie for first place, with Fritz Coetzee and Hans Naobeb both coming home with a 75 gross. Helmut Ndjendja with 86 gross was two shots up in the B Division while Achmet Abrahams led the C Division on 98 gross.
Leading the ladies pack overnight was Tiekie de Wet (73 nett) and for the Juniors Rudi Auseb jr, also with 73 nett.
After Sunday’s second round, the Marsh representative Malverine Mouton assisted the Rössmund Golf Club captain, George Murasiki with the prize-giving. The club is thankful for the ongoing sponsorship from Marsh Namibia for this important annual event.
