Cohen FC 1 was crowned National League A champion for the fourth time in a row, while SKW 5 won the National League B.

Swakopmund’s SFC A were also crowned the youth champion for the first time since 2006 in an exciting tournament that took place in Windhoek.

On Friday afternoon in the U-18 league, SKW A beat club mates SKW C in the semi-final. SFC A followed the green-whites into the final by beating SKW B 2-1.

In the previous four league rounds, the juniors from the coast failed to win against SKW A, but that was to change that evening under floodlights.

The SFC team, which fielded six national players, put in its best performance of the season in the final and won 2-0.

In the National League A, the reigning champions Cohen 1 underlined their title ambitions in the first two games by convincingly defeating SKW 1 and SFC 1.

The Cohen reserves had a disappointing day, having a 3-point lead over SKW 2 in fourth place on the table before the playoffs and thus a great chance of reaching the semi-finals. They however had to settle for the last place following three defeats.

The biggest winner of the playoffs was SKW 2, who advanced to the semi-final and ultimately secured the bronze medal, starting the playoffs in fifth place.

With a 3-0 win in the final, Cohen 1 won their fourth title in a row and once again finished this league season undefeated.

In the National League B, SFC 3 was able to improve its position from sixth to fifth.

Bobby Sinclair from SKW A was named youth player of the day, while Benjamin Lange from SFC 2 received the player of the day trophy.

The next event will be Cohen FC’s tournament that will take place on 5 October, in which three teams from Germany will also compete.
