Dynamos held again in MTN Super League

SuperSport
Leaders Power Dynamos and FC MUZA played to a goalless draw in their top-of-the-table clash in the MTN Super League on Saturday.

It is a fourth draw in succession for Dynamos, who maintain a four-point lead at the top of the table over MUZA, who climb into second with Forest Rangers only in action on Sunday.

There were chances at either end, but both coaches were left frustrated, knowing just how big a win would have been for their sides.

Defending champions Red Arrows finally returned to their winning ways as they claimed a 1-0 success at home to Kabwe Warriors.

Joseph Phiri scored on the half-hour mark as Arrows claimed a first win in seven games (L5 D1) to arrest a horror run that has seen them likely drop out of contention to retain their title.

Game on its head

There was frustration for ZESCO United as they were held 1-1 at Lumwana Radiants despite taking the lead through former Kaizer Chiefs forward Lazarous Kambole. Radiants fired back with 10 minutes remaining as Josphat Kasusu netted for the home team.

NAPSA Stars let a lead slip and then had to come from behind very late on to secure a 2-2 draw at Green Eagles.

Simon Nkhata put Stars ahead early on, but by midway through the first half, it was Eagles who led as Aaron Musore and another former Chiefs forward, Lewis Macha, turned the game on its head with a goal on debut.

But Kapembwe Musonda rescued a point for Stars four minutes into injury time at the end of the game.

Nchanga Rangers and Chambishi were involved in a six-goal thriller that ended 3-3. Joseph Kanema had Rangers in front after five minutes, but Eddie Sinyangwe equalised for the visitors.

More action

Innocent Kashita put Chambishi ahead in the second half, only for the hosts to equalise, but the visitors thought they had won it as Chabala Kasanda put them 3-2 up eight minutes from the end.

However, there was more late drama as Kalale Musonda netted in injury time to rescue a point for Rangers.

Struggling Nkana FC let a late lead slip as they drew 1-1 with Green Buffaloes. Oliver Lumbiya put the home side ahead early on, but Nicholas Mulilo equalised for Buffaloes four minutes from the end.

Djo Ntambwe scored the only goal of the game in the second half as Kansanshi Dynamos won 1-0 away at Nkwazi, while bottom side Buildcon were beaten again as they lost 2-0 at Prison Leopards.

David Obashi scored goals in either half as Leopards cruised to the win, leaving Buildcon still with just a single win all season (D4 L16).
