Road running
All runners who have entered must collect their race numbers in order to participate on Sunday.
More than 2 000 runners and fitness enthusiasts are expected at the fourth edition of the Nedbank Citi Dash taking place this Sunday from the Zoo Park along Independence Avenue in Windhoek’s city centre.
The Citi Dash has fast become a beloved road-running event which fosters a spirit of community and fitness among participants of all ages and abilities.
The event offers multiple race categories, including a 5 and 10 kilometres fun run or walk and a 10 km elite run, ensuring that there's something for everyone.
The elite competition featuring the fastest runners start at 07:30 with the first race, while the 5 km and 10 km fun runners and walkers will take the road an hour late.
Some good prize money is up for grabs for the top three athletes. The categories are 10 km elite women and men, elite under-18 women and men, wheelchair racers, visually impaired runners, schools, running clubs and federations.
The routes
From the Zoo Park, runners will head south to Ausspannplatz and around Snyman Circle from where they head back up Independence Avenue, passing Zoo Park to continue further north.
The turnaround for the 5 km race is indicated by a turnaround sign close to the Engen service station on the right-hand side.
The 10 km runners will continue to the Simon de Witt Bridge, around the circle close to the fire department to tackle the home stretch back to Zoo Park opposite the Nedbank Campus.
Registration and race number collection will take place on Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Nedbank Campus at the corner of Fidel Castro and Rev Michael Scott Streets.

2023 winners
Last year Shivolo Martha Nuukongo (35 minutes 6 seconds) and Simon Matias (30:33) won the women’s and men’s elite race respectively. Elite under-18: 1 Monika Kandjebo (37:20) and 1 Matt-Reece Izaaks (36:47). Visually impaired: 1 Lahja Ishitile (54:48) and 1 Johannes Nambala (50:30). Wheelchair: 1 Roodley Gowaseb (31:18).
