Masilingi heating up nicely in Europa

Sprinter Beatrice Masilingi completed the 60 metres final in 7.39 seconds for third place at the Tampere Indoor Meeting in Finland last Thursday.
The 2021 Olympic 200 m finalist was not able to improve her Namibian national indoor record time of 7.35 seconds which she achieved on 1 February at the Ghent Indoor Meeting in Belgium. However, the talented 21-year-old is slowly but surely finding her feet again on the athletics track after a months-long forced hiatus beyond her control.
She also ran the 200 metres in Ghent in 23.65 seconds for a Namibian indoor record two weekends ago.
Masilingi again took part in the 60 and 200 metres at the Open Indoor Meeting with Youth in Belgium on Saturday evening. She improved her Namibian indoor 200 record from 23.65 to 23.54 seconds with a first place. At the 60 m final she was second in 7.52 seconds.
Her next competition is scheduled for 16 February 16 in Ghent, Belgium.
