Swimming

At this weekend’s national short-course swimming championship 2024 in Swakopmund, hosted by the Namibian Aquatic Sports Federation (NASFED), Para swimming will be well represented with a total of four swimmers in the multi-disability class.

The four Para swimmers are Caitlin Botha (27), Owen Ramakhutla (24), Namasiku van der Linden (17) and Keila De Oliveira (14).

The Para swimmers are supported by NASFED and the Namibia National Paralympic Committee. This competition is registered with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Caitlin and Namasiku have an IPC classification. This means that they are officially registered as Para swimmers and their swim times are recorded by the IPC. The Multi-Disability Committee under NASFED will seek to complete the IPC classification process for Owen and Keila during 2025.

Should you or your child have a disability and wish to start swimming competitively, feel free to contact Eline van der Linden at 081-124-4202 or [email protected]
