Third NTA junior tournament is on
Tennis
The NTA Junior Tournament will take place Friday afternoon and Saturday at the Central Tennis Club, Sport Klub Windhoek, and Nampol courts in Olympia, Windhoek, where young players will have the chance to compete against each other and hone their skills.
The tournament is open to both boys and girls from the under-10 age group all the way up to U16 and the combined under-25 bracket.
It will feature both the singles format where players compete individually against one another in exciting matchups, as well as the doubles format which requires teamwork and coordination of any doubles pairing.
Due to the size of the tournament, the U16s and U25s will compete at the Central Tennis Club, while the U10, U12 and U14’s will play at Sport Klub Windhoek and Nampol.
As the players compete in this tournament, and later events throughout the year, they will gain rating points which will help them qualify for the top-eight highest-rated players who will then compete against one another to pinpoint the best Namibian players and deserving representatives at international tennis tournaments.
Larushka Kruger, a tournament official, said: “We are extremely excited to be hosting our third NTA junior tournament for the year. All of our top players in the country are competing in order to boost up their ranking. If you consider yourself a tennis fan, come join us to witness the best tennis our country has to offer.”
