Last weekend, the Omeya Golf Course hosted the Omeya Junior Open, a two-day event that saw young golfers set the stage. According to Namibia Junior Golf secretary, Jessica van Schalkwyk, the event went very well. "The players braved the cold, early mornings to tee off, but luckily warmed up later on," she said.

Sponsored by the Namibia Junior Golf Foundation, the event featured 23 juniors competing in Divisions A through E. Van Schalkwyk was impressed with the talent on display. "We saw a lot of talent shine this weekend and the NJGF committee is striving to develop this potential to represent Namibia at the highest level," she noted.

Sixteen-year-old Kyle Johnson of Walvis Bay Golf Club put his talent on display once again, coming into the competition with high confidence after winning the Bank Windhoek Tsumeb Open two weeks ago.
