A market with a difference

Fun for the whole family
The first All-Day Market for the year as well as the first Easter Market takes place at Tiger Reef.
You can expect lots of fun in the sun in a safe, warm and welcoming atmosphere at the next All-Day Market taking place in Swakopmund on 8 April 2023.

“It's the first All-Day Market for 2023 as well as the first Easter Market that we will be hosting at Tiger Reef,” says event organiser, Danien van Niekerk.

According to Van Niekerk, there is no better way to spend the Easter weekend than at the coast, on the beach, surrounded by lots of stalls set up by local small businesses and all-day live entertainment. “Coupled with the fresh ocean air, there will also be a gin bar and loads of fun activities to keep the kids busy throughout the day. This includes a jumping castle fun park, pony rides and an Easter egg hunt.”

She adds that the entertainment line-up includes marimbas, various solo acts as well as a freestyle fire dance. “There will also be many different food stalls to choose from, including sweet and savoury treats. If you just want to make a day of trying out new foods, you will be kept busy for hours.”

The market charges a small entrance fee of N$10 for children (6-12 years) and N$20 for 13 . Children under 6 can enter for free. “The market charges this entrance fee to be able to bring visitors a full day of wonderful entertainment. Putting on an event of this nature, paying the service providers for facilities and security is pricey. We take the safety and well-being of our visitors seriously and therefore cannot compromise on having these services there on the day.”

The empowerment of entrepreneurs and keeping the beach clean are priorities for Van Niekerk. “We take pride in hosting a clean event for all to enjoy. Hosting an event like this regularly gives the community and small businesses a much-needed revenue boost. We are thankful for the opportunity to make it a reality while also actively supporting the artistic community at the same time.”
