STILL GOING STRONG
One of the longest-serving schools in Walvis Bay, Duinesig High School, celebrated its 40th anniversary on Friday. A procession from the Muatamanene Fire Station to the sports grounds at the school- led by flag bearers Bonita Shivanda, Quedma Mpareke, Ekia Kwedhi and Jazzman Pieters (pictured) - kickstarted the proceedings. The symbolic cutting of the cake, performances by cultural groups, and the inauguration of a school library formed part of the celebrations. The school currently accommodates 1 424 learners, 49 teachers, nine janitors, and two administrative officers. Photo Otis Daniels
