Unam confers over 4 000 qualifications
The University of Namibia (Unam) held its main campus graduations this week. This was the fifth of five sessions held over this month. This year’s graduation ceremonies were held at the Mercure Hotel, formerly known as the Safari Court Hotel and Conference Centre in Windhoek. This is also the first time the ceremony is being held at the hotel since the outbreak of Covid-19.
This year’s graduations saw 4 281 students obtaining their qualifications during the first graduation ceremony of the year. This is 498 fewer students than during the April 2021 graduations.
Meanwhile, Unam's pro vice-chancellor for academic affairs, Dr Frednard Gideon, noted that this year, female graduates once again outnumbered male graduates. He therefore called on Namibian men to further their education.
