Bringing Tourism to the Regions
The tourism industry was very likely most hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is with a great measure of pride that Namibia Media Holdings substantially contributed towards a free flow of information to the nation during that time.
NMH also set up vaccination- and testing centers with a view towards assisting Namibians and later the first visitors that returned to our country, to establish their health status and ensure that the quality of their stay in Namibia was not dictated by a vicious virus, but rather by the impression left by us all as Namibian people and most certainly by our magnificent country’s environment and natural wonders.
We believed and continue to believe in the concept of “sharing information”, which is NMH’s mission in every sense of the word. That is the reason, why we helped set up other initiatives such as the African Child Development Trust (ACDT), which aims at freely sharing educational material – just another form of information sharing – with children in all 14 regions of Namibia during these challenging times.
In same manner NMH has always remained committed towards being an active partner in the tourism industry. That is the reason, why we bring you a weekly show on Tourismus Namibia’s Facebook site, a show that is also found under the internet site of “oneuptwo.com”, where all of NMH’s generated electronic content is found. This show promotes Namibia in every possible manner, talking about “Topics” and “Destinations” as well as bringing you current subjects under “To the Point”. This show can be watched in Namibia on the DSTv-channel 285 and GOTv’s channel 94.
It is in that same spirit that First National Bank (FNB) and the Namibian Breweries Limited (NBL) are substantially supporting the Tourism Expo. Through the generous support by these sponsors, the Expo is able to give away vouchers to the value of a whopping N$ 250 000. Visitors of the Tourism Expo will stand a chance to win a N$ 1 000 voucher through various initiatives and activations. These vouchers can be redeemed by booking and paying a holiday at any one of the participating stands at the expo.
Considering the above engagements it has always come naturally for NMH to serve the tourism community as the facilitator of the Tourismus Expo, which was previously known as Namibian Tourism Expo. Similar to the tourism industry, which had to accept change at a tremendous rate over the past three years, so the Expo has come to realize that Namibia needs to focus much stronger not only on Namibia, but the region as a whole. Southern Africa as a singular unit is not only a drawing card as a tourist region, but a power from within. “Bringing Tourism to the Regions” is what we would like to do in every sense of the word.
It is against that background that the Tourismus Expo is adopting a regional - as well as an international approach, where we welcome all tourism destinations – be it hospitality-, tour- or activity-related – and all other players of this industry, whether these are regulatory- or supply- and services-oriented institutions and individuals, to in future market themselves at the Tourismus Expo.
Using Namibia as gateway to Africa and beyond, allow us to also entertain you a little in order to spice up your experience.
Welcome to the Tourism Expo from the 3rd to the 5th of November 2022!
