Airlink assessing Paragon's ground handling
South African air operator Airlink says it is keenly observing developments at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, following Menzies' eviction as a ground service operator.
"We are alive to the situation at the airport where all operations are being affected. They follow the eviction of ground handling company, Menzies, and its overnight replacement by Paragon, a new service provider," it said.
The company deployed a team to assist to avoid flight disruptions, it said
"While the delays are beyond Airlink’s control, to avoid bottlenecks and minimise delays, today we deployed a team of personnel from Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town in addition to our Windhoek staff to ensure our flights to and from the Namibian capital are not disrupted."
Airlink operates flights between Windhoek and Johannesburg as well as between Windhoek and Cape Town from the Hosea Kutako International Airport.
